Soho House Chicago Chicago a MICHELIN Guide Hotel

soho house chicago

For those properties, we provide real-time rates and availability via a partnership with Booking.com. All three dining venues open to non-members who are hotel guests offer drink menus. The Allis is where you'll find the most exquisite wines as well as craft cocktails with fun flavors, like "Turning Japanese" with its chamomile, lavender, spiced pear and whiskey. The West Loop is hopping and if you're a foodie who has to hit all the best spots then this is your place because everything is a quick walk.

Exclusive review: Soho House Chicago

For 20+ years we've scoured the earth, evaluating hotels that meet every taste and budget, creating a hand-picked selection that's proven and inspired. In fact, our painstaking curation led to Michelin making us the official hotel selection of their legendary MICHELIN Guide. The MICHELIN Guide had always been a benchmark in gastronomy. My first Chicago lesson was not to waste a good stomach rumble on that touristy pizza stodge. The hotel is a six-storey converted belt warehouse in the West Loop foodie nirvana, among buzz-joints such as Girl & the Goat, Au Cheval, Next and Aviary.

Restaurants

Occupying a former belt factory in the West Loop, this private members club's hotel feels like a bohemian artist's loft. Artists, architects, and musicians lounge in the chandelier-decked lobby, which slings cold-pressed juices by day and craft cocktails at night. The contemporary-art collection, featuring pieces by the likes of Damien Hirst, is a draw for art lovers, while foodies appreciate the proximity to Randolph Street restaurants.

About Tablet Hotels

Best of all, you can book as many Plus stays as you want, for whomever you want. Tablet Hotels was added to the Michelin family in 2018 when it merged with the MICHELIN Guide and became the source of the hotel selection.

Hotel Intercontinental Magnificent Mile

The Aviary (8-minute walk), if you can snag a reservation, is a haute cocktail bar that's a definite experience, where mixologists employ a chef-grade kitchen for their craft. Swift & Sons (8-minute walk), also in the Fulton Market area, has one of the city's best wine lists and is your basic old-school steakhouse reinvented. Tablet Hotels is all about discovering the world's most exciting hotels — places where you'll find a memorable experience, not just a room for the night.

Book direct on MICHELIN Guide and feel secure with our dedicated travel specialist team ready to assist.Best prices are guaranteed. Still, I didn't flee to the new Chicago House - the newest branch and largest to date - in search of succour. Like many Brits, I have no true grip on the psycho-geography of Chicago.

Sure, it's a bit of a haul to get to the lakefront for museums and cultural attractions but you're really only crossing the Loop area, made easy thanks to public-transit as well as Uber and Lyft drivers. For creative professionals, you'll not only drool over the design but if you bring your business cards you might even engage in some networking with fellow guests and members. You'll still enjoy the full fabulous MICHELIN Guide experience when you book, including our legendary service and delightful style.

MICHELIN Guide

I crave ferociously to hole up in one of the 'medium size' rooms - in truth more capacious than an average British flat - during a harsh Chicago winter. I will dress only to eat at the in-house Pizza East, take boxing classes in the gym's full-sized fighting ring, or have my antlers filed in the Cowshed spa while watching one of the cute retro Fifties TVs. I will brave the cold only for supper at the utterly glorious, serious-about-beer restaurant The Publican. Up on the rooftop is the hotel's 60-foot-long pool flaunting superb Chicago-skyline views.

Obviously, I've spent a thousand high days, holidays and raucous hooplas within the environs of 'Nick Jones Inc' too. Jones is the bon-vivant entrepreneur behind the group, and my end-of-year accounts suggest I may be putting his children through school via my weekly commitment to Pinotage and plates of spianata calabra alone. Yet it's the solitary, recuperating times at Little House in Mayfair or High Road House in Chiswick that I remember most vividly. Travellers quack about the impersonal nature of brands and chains, but for me this is hogwash.

"Top Chef" winner Stephanie Izard's Girl & The Goat (literally around the corner) hasn't slipped out of style since its 2010 opening; on the dinner menu are a mix of raw bar, pig and pork items. Across the street is Au Cheval, which many Chicagoans dub the city's best burger. Tip Enjoy the Chicago-skyline view with food and drink delivered poolside at the rooftop pool. Cowshed Spa is here, like at other Soho House properties, around the globe.

There are five treatment rooms plus six chairs dedicated to servicing manis and pedis. Non-members can add the privileges at checkout through our 30 day free trial, cancellable at anytime. You’ll also get access to member-only discounts and a dedicated team of travel experts ready to provide personalized assistance along every step of your journey. Every booking you make at a Plus Program hotel will be packed with privileges that pay for themselves in as little as one stay.

Outdoor fireplaces and beach-house-type furnishings make this feel more like California than Chi-Town. One nice advantage to checking into a hotel not in downtown Chicago is that there's more square footage in the hotel's footprint. This includes the lobby, where the decor evokes the 1920s and 1930s with exposed-brick walls, plush tufted-back armchair and sofas, an open concept and crystal chandeliers overhead. There's not a single piece of furniture that doesn't look like it came from that time period, too, but that hasn't gotten in the way of folks working on their laptops for hours here. We're always trying to bring you more amazing hotels, more quickly. But not every hotel can immediately connect their reservation system with ours.

Handsome hotel rooms, which are clubby but not cloying, are open to the public. Hotel guests also get access to three on-site restaurants, bar, spa, gym and rooftop pool. In each of the Big rooms is a free-standing tub and walk-in rainforest shower, while all other rooms have a shower only (which is the size of a large closet). Grey tiles on the floor and walls are a nice shift from all-white baths. Toiletries are from Cowshed Spa, linked to all Soho House properties, including the Chicago hotel's spa.

Premium Culinary Offerings at Remy on Disney Cruise Line Expanded

remy disney cruise

The soft textures of the beef and ratatouille are offset by the Parmesan crisps, while the basil coulis and aged balsamic each provide contrasting nuances of herbaceous freshness and sweetness. The menu is divided in half with two tasting menus (with a la carte options as well so you can easily mix and match). The Saveur menu (meaning “flavor” in French) is created by Lallement, while the Goût menu (meaning “taste”) is created by Hunnel. Both are exquisite options, and while my sister opted to stick to the Goût side of the menu, I tried a little bit of each. The problem, in a manner of speaking, is that the dishes at Remy, much like those at Victoria & Albert’s, are in a class of their own.

Remy: Fine French Dining on Disney Cruise Line

Outside on the pool deck of Disney Magic, Duck-In Diner dishes out lunch and snacks to hungry cruisers. The menu here is a fun mix of American favorites like burgers and dogs, plus Middle Eastern-inspired shawarma wrapped in a warm pita. I love the shawarma because you can see it rotating on a vertical spit right behind the counter and load up your sandwich with your favorite toppings. Near Disney Wish's main pool is Mickey & Friends Festival of Foods. This outdoor open-air concept is made up of five smaller quick-service windows dishing out barbecue, pizza, burgers, tacos and ice cream.

Olaf's Royal Picnic

My main complaint about the dishes in the rotational restaurants are that the potatoes are always phoned in. If Bob Ross has happy little trees, I’ll take happy little potatoes. Our next course was when the two menus diverged rather significantly. The French menu presented what I like to call “a tribute to all foods but especially beets”.

Replies to “Disney Dream Remy Dinner Review”

You can’t bring your kids to Remy, but that doesn’t mean you can’t go. Disney has fantastic kids’ clubs where you can leave your youngsters for while you enjoy an adult dining experience. If your kids are age three or older (and potty trained), you can leave them at the Oceaneer Club or Lab, Edge, or Vibe with no reservation and no charge.

The meal starts with your hosts, Ant-Man and the Wasp, explaining what the interactive quantum core on your table is for. Then, throughout the meal, you'll work with Marvel superheroes to save the ship from an impending villain. Breakfast here is fairly basic but more relaxing than hitting the buffet line. The three-course lunch menu is a nice alternative if you're looking for a table-service lunch.

Before you even get to Preludes, you will smell the freshly popped popcorn, which can be served in a souvenir popcorn bucket. If you bring your bucket back to Preludes, you can enjoy discounted popcorn refills throughout your cruise. Buckets that are brought on board from other cruises or from a Disney Park are not available for refills at the discounted price. The buffet has both inside and outside seating, so on warm sea days, take your plate outside to enjoy the view of the ship's wake. If your kids love tea parties and Disney princesses, you might want to book one of the Royal Court Royal Tea experiences on a Disney cruise.

The $135 dinner on Disney Cruise Line isn't cheap, but the fancy food sold me on it being worth it

Disney Wish's 1923 is one of the best rotational dining options across Disney Cruise Line. The restaurant is named after the year that The Walt Disney Company was founded and celebrates animation through glass-encased shadow boxes of sketches and maquettes of Disney characters. Disney Cruise Line's signature rotational dining restaurant is Animator's Palate, which can be found on the four oldest Disney ships. On Disney Magic and Disney Wonder, the restaurant is covered in black-and-white sketches of popular Disney and Pixar characters.

My favorite is Donald's Cantina, which is a make-your-own Tex-Mex spot with plenty of base, protein and topping options, along with a nearby salsa and hot sauce bar. The dinner menu is similar to that of Palo on the other Disney ships, with a prix-fixe dinner starting at $50 and an a la carte option. The a la carte menu emphasizes steaks, with American prime cuts, Australian wagyu and Japanese Kobe and Miyazaki beef you can pair with one of five sauces. If you ask, you can also get a sauce flight to try all of the options with your steak. Brunch starts with a glass of prosecco or a mimosa, then your choice of antipasti plates. I suggest taking a few people with you to brunch so you can try a few of the dishes on the menu, though one not to miss is the chicken Parmesan that's served with risotto.

One of my favorite parts of my recent trip on the Disney Dream was brunch at the fine dining restaurant Remy, inspired by the movie Ratatouille. We enjoyed a prix fixe menu developed by Chef Scott Hunnel (from Victoria & Alberts at WDW Grand Floridian) and 3 Michelin starred Chef Arnauld Lallement (from l’Assiette Champenoise hotel in France). The Truffle Collection can be enjoyed from November through February aboard the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy, as you join the chefs from Remy in celebration truffle season. The premium menu was inspired by the Alba and black Perigord truffles. This is all followed by a selection of distinguished cheeses and a sweet indulgence, to top everything off of course!

This is the first time a Disney restaurant has been awarded this high honor. However, Capa Steakhouse at the Four Seasons Resort Orlando — located on Walt Disney World property — also has a Michelin Star. Most drinks are included with your overall Disney cruise cost. These include drip coffee, juice, soda from soda machines, tap water, milk, tea and lemonade. The exceptions are alcoholic drinks, canned sodas from bars, bottled water and smoothies, which are purchased individually and charged to your folio.

We also did this experience on the Disney Fantasy in 2022. I obviously took pictures during the Dessert Experience and I saw several other guests doing this as well. Don’t use your flash and don’t keep your phone or camera on the table while you’re actually dining. Some guests enjoy fancy dress and choose to get gussied up to dine at Remy, but this is not required. You’ll find that more people get fancified at dinner than at brunch or the Dessert Experience. Normally, the servers try to encourage each guest to order from different sides of the chef’s menus or offer a create-your-own a la carte menu.

Normally, I do not fall for bread service trap, but this bread was something special and it would have been a crime not to get a second slice. At the time of our cruise, the Disney Fantasy just started serving bread which was born in France. My sister’s entrée from the Goût side of the menu is onion ash and black Hawaiian salt dusted lamb medallions, asparagus, marble potatoes, and pickled onions.

The golden bread plate is the perfect for the new bread being served at Remy. A non-alcoholic alternative to the Collette is available – appropriately named, the Linguini. We have not tried it, but a few people we know have and they’ve told us they enjoyed it. Click here for a review from Remy and videos of Q&A with the chefs.

Then there’s the 1961 Château Latour that Chef Skinner offers Linguini to try to learn the secrets behind his cooking skills. Nice pants and a button-up shirt or even a suit will suffice for men. When it comes to choosing what to wear to Remy, guests should tend towards the more formal wear. For example, if it is something you would wear as a guest to a formal wedding, then it should be good to wear to Remy.

Remy is most upscale dining venue on the Dream and Fantasy; the restaurants are very similar on both ships. The photos in this post are of the Dream, but the Fantasy is substantially the same. Specific times and schedules may vary, so always check in your cruise schedule or app to see the exact times. My main course for the evening was a delicious Kobe style beef with an enjoyable smoked garlic potatoes. The chicken dish was not just your normal everyday chicken, it is Poularde chicken which is defined as a young hen at least 120 days old that has never laid and egg. The dish was accompanied by artichoke and a chicken sauce.

She’s treating us to a review of the ultra-posh Remy — a Disney Cruise Line fine-dining restaurant. Obviously, this comparison is hyperbolic and merely to illustrate my point. The point is that using chefs who have earned Michelin stars elsewhere to craft menus is a popular marketing tool. The monetary cost plus the opportunity cost of dining here over the “free” meals is pretty steep, but Remy is so, so good. It’ll have you tasting flavors you never even knew existed; it’s like your sense of taste is heightened.

Things I've done that I'll never do again on a Carnival cruise

cruise fun

Evening shows typically run twice a night, with a rotating lineup during the cruise so that you have something different each day of your cruise. In the evenings you’ll find live music being played at locations around the ship. In our experience the films are family-friendly, with them often being one of the newest superhero films.

VACATION WITH THE FAMILY

A notable example is Disney Cruise Line’s island, Castaway Cay – a paradise for both kids and parents. This blend of variety and convenience makes cruising an ideal choice for a vacation that’s both enjoyable and educational. You’ll be hard-pressed to ever feel bored during a Royal Caribbean family cruise. The cruise lines and recommended ships that follow are our top picks for family cruises.

Unlike traditional travel, where constant transit can be a hassle, cruising allows you to experience a variety of places effortlessly and choose your itinerary and activities. Well, I didn’t realize that Carnival's cruise ships dock at a slightly different spot than Royal Caribbean, which is what I was most familiar with. As we walked off the ship, I used my phone to enter the address of the resort. On both of my Carnival cruises this year, we visited Cozumel, Mexico during our Caribbean sailings.

Carnival Cruise Line: “The Fun Ships”

Breakaway and Getaway feature five multistory waterslides, as well as The Plank, an eight-foot walk (part of the ropes course) that extends off the edge of the ship and out over the sea. The Reef, the main kids' club, is divided into rooms for each age group with brightly adorned spaces filled with fun activities and age-appropriate toys. Onboard restaurants successfully keep kids entertained while allowing parents to enjoy the meal, as well. In short, Disney family cruises are excellent choices for families and leave little room for boredom for everyone. The Royal Tots and Royal Babies programs provide interactive classes and activities (when children are accompanied by a parent) for children from 6 months to 36 months old. Drop-off babysitting services and toddler-friendly play spaces are also available.

For foodies who cannot soak in enough ocean views, there is the Waterfront, a quarter-mile oceanfront deck filled with restaurants, bars, and seating areas. The ship is part of what MSC Cruises has dubbed the "Seaside EVO" subclass. While MSC Seascape is technically part of the same class of ships as MSC Seaside and Seaview, the cruise line claims that 65% of the public areas were reimagnined onboard the two newer ships. Mariner of the Seas' $120 million Royal Amplification was completed in 2019. While she's a little smaller than the newer Freedom Class ships (about 139,000 gross tons compared to Freedom of the Seas' 154,407), many onboard amenities are the same.

Best NCL Ships for Kids

I admit, I've never done this, though I know I should — if only to wipe off the remote control for the cabin TV. Many cruises depart in the afternoon, so it might seem just fine to fly or drive to a port on the morning of departure. But all it takes is a moderate flight delay or a pile-up on the highway to upset those plans. If you're delayed in your arrival at the port, the ship will not wait for you. If you only follow one piece of advice in this story, it should be this one.

Get The Ultimate Cruise Planner

If you’re looking for the most fun cruise to plan this year, there are some truly amazing cruise ships to choose from. Top cruise lines have built some of the coolest features and fun attractions on their newest cruise ships. There’s no better way to relax than by some time in the hot tub. While there are usually multiple whirlpools around the main pool, other hot tubs are found around the ship, including adults-only areas. So while a ship might have a couple of pools, it could have 8-10 hot tubs.

FAMILY LIBRARY

With an emphasis on style, luxury, and diverse entertainment, MSC brings European elegance to the fun cruise realm. Each of our ships is a unique experience — check the features and find out which ship is right for you. A little spontaneity goes a long way in most facets of life, but when it comes to travel, the biggest rewards are typically reserved for those who take their cruise planning seriously. Chances are, the ports you will be visiting are brand new to you—and the single day you have in port may be the one and only chance you’ll ever get to explore them. Accordingly, it’s well worth your while to begin reading up on the itinerary’s destinations long before you step foot on the ship. Don’t risk cutting it close, especially if you have long or connecting flights or the potential of winter weather that might cause hiccups with your transit plans.

Mariner of the Seas

Excellent Broadway-style shows in the evenings will keep the older crowd engaged, while parades and ice skating shows will "wow" the whole family. Anthem of the Seas has a more sophisticated vibe, but many of its attractions are great for families. Meet Kathy Ava, a food, travel, and cruise writer based in Los Angeles/Pasadena, and the owner and main writer of Tasty Itinerary. With over 20 years of experience planning trips and logistics at her full-time job and for herself, she's become a pro at crafting unforgettable tasty itineraries. She's always on the hunt for delicious, fun travel destinations and cruise itineraries. She firmly believes that life is short and we must make the most of it, so always say yes to dessert.

cruise fun

Unfortunately not every day on a cruise will be sunshine and blue skies. However there’s still so much to do on rainy days on a cruise. Sit out on your private balcony or head to the top deck to enjoy the most spectacular view of the stars. Order room service and enjoy a cup of coffee and some breakfast, while enjoying your own private balcony in the morning. While continental room service is often free on a cruise, you may want to splurge for an extra special romantic experience.

I am confident in a few things that I will never do again onboard one of Carnival’s ships. No matter which MSC cruise ship you choose -- from MSC Armonia to MSC Seaside -- kids will have a full slate of things to keep them busy thanks to modern, fun spaces for all age groups. Select Princess shore excursions are Discovery Family Tours, which are targeted at families with kids ages 3 to 12 and involve hands-on activities that connect kids to the destination. Animal Planet tours are ideal for parents and kids who want to see whales, sharks, sloths and other critters up close. Activities might range from Caribbean-shark-themed scavenger hunts to hands-on "Mythbusters"-style challenges and learning the science of magic. Other kid-approved activities include video game tournaments, art projects and storytime.

Imagine spending your sea days immersed in a vibrant atmosphere, surrounded by pool games, live music, and the joyous laughter of fellow passengers. These pool areas become the heart of the ship’s social scene during the day, offering a perfect blend of relaxation and fun under the sun. In the main dining room, the menu is a revolving door of tantalizing options, offering you the chance to embark on an unlimited exploration of flavors and dishes. For those looking to elevate their dining experience further, many cruise ships boast various specialty restaurants. It’s about the journey itself, including stops at various cruise ports. Some cruise lines even boast their exclusive islands, offering unique experiences you won’t find anywhere else.

Disney Cruise Line has done a lot more to accommodate tweens and teens -- but its ships offer the best cruise for small kids, hands down. We prefer the line's biggest ships, Disney Wish, Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy, but the refurbished Disney Magic and Disney Wonder are great choices for Disney family cruises, as well. Royal Caribbean offers affordable family cruises, with a Royal Caribbean kids sail free program and other discounts on third and fourth passengers appearing occasionally throughout the year. While some people prefer freestyle cruising, some cruisers still enjoy getting all dressed up and enjoying a more sophisticated evening. I hope this was helpful if you’re thinking of planning a cruise, to give you an idea what to expect.

Fast forward to today, and the ‘fun cruise’ has become a universe unto itself. Ships are like floating cities, boasting of activities ranging from Broadway-style shows to robot bartenders. Some cruisers even like to stay back during at least one scheduled port call. When the ship empties out as guests go on excursions, you’ll be free to enjoy the onboard facilities sans the crowds. Racking up a whole lot of stress is no way to start off a vacation, and anybody who’s ever nearly missed a bus, plane, train, or boat knows that type of anxiety doesn’t feel very good. But you can take your cruise to the next level by integrating these expert cruise tips, from the practical to the aspirational.

It’s relaxing to sit down, have a drink, and just watch as everyone on the ship eventually passes by. While there is no shortage of things to do, don’t think you have to go 100 miles per hour the entire cruise. Think that the entertainment on the cruise ship is going to all be PG-rated? Most is, but the comedians that perform during the trip can get a little dirtier… and a lot funnier.

Port vs Starboard Side on a Cruise Ship

starboard cruise

Whether the starboard versus port side of your cruise ship is more desirable depends on the travel direction and route. Here’s how to understand what is port side versus starboard side of a cruise ship and decide which is the right cabin for you. Today, we use port and starboard on ships (and aircraft) because these are fixed locations, while left and right can be subjective.

Starboard Cruise Services and Carnival Cruise Line have announced the extension of their long-standing retail partnership for five more years, according to a press release. Higher price points might be $600 to $25,000, with vintage luxury handbag and accessory brands from What Goes Around Comes Around, the premier purveyor of fine vintage pieces, or Stella McCartney’s vegan leather handbags. For Swiss timepieces, you have everything from Longines to Tag Heuer to certified pre-owned Rolexes. In terms of beauty brands, it’s certainly Lancôme, Estée Lauder and Clinique.

View All Environment

We also pride ourselves on being the first in the industry to build cruise-line-dedicated account teams. In her leadership role, Ms. Bauer will oversee all operations for Starboard and sister company Onboard Media, an integrated media company, comprising 2,500 employees working both on land and on board the ships of the companies' eight partner cruise lines. Both Starboard and Onboard are part of LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, the world's leading luxury provider. Since joining forces in 1992, Starboard and Carnival have been inviting guests to “fun” shopping experiences onboard, and they continue to deliver custom-designed merchandise to sea. It will offer expansive retail spaces with multiple shops across three decks.

View All Policy & Public Interest

On an east-west cruise in the Northern Hemisphere, you will get the most protection from the sun if you book the port side of an eastbound cruise or the starboard side of a westbound cruise. If soaking up every warm ray of sunshine is your priority, a room facing the equator on an east-west cruise will provide the best sunshine all day long. In the Northern Hemisphere, book the starboard side of an eastbound cruise and the port side of a westbound cruise. Some captains will turn the ship around in particularly scenic locations like Glacier Bay in Alaska or Napali Coast in Hawaii so that all passengers can enjoy some views. But if you are cruising along the coast, one side of the ship will likely offer better views. Ultimately, the most important cabin choices are which deck you're on, whether you're in the middle or toward one end of the ship (for seasickness reasons), and which size and category of room you select.

starboard cruise

New on Celebrity Ascent

You’ve got to check the box in every category and make sure you have something for everybody who wants to make a retail purchase. At least 50% of the guests on board are celebrating some sort of milestone. To commemorate the occasion, we suggest private retail appointments or a concierge for store outings. Experiential retail would also be things that are exclusive, like a local artist from Barcelona that comes aboard and hand-paints on silk scarves.

Join the retail community as we come together for three days of strategic sessions, meaningful off-site networking events and interactive learning experiences. If seeing the sunset from your cruise is a priority, ensure that your dinner time doesn't conflict with the sunset. Cruise operators will often publish the sunrise and sunset times along your route. And dining in your stateroom is an option if you want to take advantage of the view. But if port sounds like an after-dinner drink and starboard is what you feel after you’ve had too much port, here’s a quick primer.

Port vs. Starboard: Which Side Is Better on a Cruise Ship?

We work closely with our cruise line partners one year out to determine who is going to be on board and that’s where we start. If they’re going to a beach, the passenger better be able to walk into a beach shop right on the ship and get anything and everything they need. When our ships go to Alaska in the summer, obviously the logo apparel we do is more long sleeves.

Starboard Cruise Services, LVMH Moët Hennessy and Celebrity Cruises are launching an immersive luxury shopping experience onboard the cruise ship Celebrity Beyond. The curated vacation will embark from Southampton, UK on April 27, 2022 and include retail offerings that showcase notable fashion brands, wellness collaborations and sustainable offerings on its voyage to Western Europe. MIAMI (January 26, 2023) – Starboard Cruise Services, a LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton company and leading global retailer at sea, announces the addition of jewelry industry veteran, Caryl Capeci, as a Strategic Advisor. Driving the partnership and growth strategy within the Jewelry, Luxury and Swiss categories, Capeci’s key focus will be on global revenue performance, operational excellence, exceptional customer service and a luxury approach to brand stewardship. The bottle of Hennessy Pure White is larger, and it’s exclusive to cruise ships. But the biggest way we differentiate the onboard experience from the port is through our people and the relationships that they develop with the guests.

starboard cruise

Sailing on more than 100 cruise ships worldwide, our retail shops offer irresistible duty-free shopping. But we don’t just sell merchandise; we create unique shopping experiences for every guest on board. MIAMI (Sept. 21, 2022) – As of today, Starboard Cruise Services, an LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton company and leading global retailer at sea, and Carnival Cruise Line will continue their long-standing partnership for five additional years. The extension includes Starboard’s current portfolio of nine Carnival ships and introduces Starboard as the chosen retail partner for Carnival’s highly anticipated newest flagship Carnival Celebration.

The terms come from Old English and how boats were configured in the early days of boating. Port and starboard are on the same sides of the ship, regardless of your orientation. If you face the rear (aft) of the ship, port is on your right and starboard is on your left. Port and starboard are terms for direction relative to the front of the ship. When facing the front of the ship, the port side is on your left and the starboard side is on the right.

The company is part of LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, the world's leading luxury provider. Starboard has been consistently recognized for excellence by the travel retail industry with numerous awards, including DFNI-Frontier Americas Travel Retailer of the Year; Asia/Pacific Cruise Retailer of the Year; and Global Cruise Retailer of the Year. We’re the people that create memorable vacation retail experiences. We are the only cruise retailer that offers dedicated account teams who build unparalleled, data-driven, customized retail offerings for each of our world-class cruise line partners. Inspired by each cruise line’s brand DNA, personality and guest demographic, our products, experiences, and personalized service truly become a memorable part of the guest’s vacation experience.

These include catching graphics that are available on t-shirts, to itinerary-themed beaches or exploring the homeport of Galveston. The direction a ship docks depends on port configuration, direction of travel, regulations and captain discretion. Even if you painstakingly research which ports you will visit, basing your cabin selection solely on this is unlikely to pay off with a great view.

Some sailings on both the Disney Magic and Disney Fantasy will provide an opportunity to experience Disney Cruise Line’s newest destination in The Bahamas, Lighthouse Point. Located on the island of Eleuthera, this vibrant beach retreat celebrates Bahamian culture and offers exceptional quality and service synonymous with Disney vacations. Alongside the announcement of the 2024 cruise dates, Disney Cruise Line often unveils special promotions and early booking incentives.

The stops at Lighthouse Point will almost exclusively be sailing on the Disney Magic from Fort Lauderdale, with 1 sailing offered on the Disney Fantasy from Port Canaveral. Lighthouse Point boasts a family beach, an adult beach, and a splash pad for kids. Disney has not released which ships will be visiting the new Island, and I expect the Disney Treasure will include it on its itineraries.

While the exact date of the announcement remains a mystery, based on past years’ release patterns, it is expected that Disney Cruise Line will unveil the much-anticipated 2024 dates in the upcoming months. The announcement will likely be met with excitement and enthusiasm from eager cruisers around the world, as they eagerly await the opportunity to secure their spot on one of Disney’s magical ships. This cruise will begin its journey from Vancouver in May through September of 2024 as the Disney Wonder sets sail for a journey exploring the beauty of Alaska with five, seven, and nine-night sailings. The cruise through the Inside Passage will take guests to witness the incredible scenery of port locations like Juneau, Skagway, and Ketchikan, while also providing the opportunity to see the Hubbard Glacier and Stikine Icecap. The Disney Dream cruise ship spends the first half of 2024 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, continuing the string of Caribbean Cruises it had begun offering from there in November 2023. Hello, I'm Alison a Disney Cruise and Travel Blogger with over 40 cruises and more than 30 years of Disney travel experience. I share tips, reviews and videos so that you can have the best Disney travel experience. Now we know that there will be two cruises for the Disney Wonder with port stops in Hawaii and she will briefly have Honolulu as her home port.

All come with a personalized name tag, lanyard with medallion and magnet set. It looks like the itineraries will be released today March 23, 2023, with booking to begin on March 17, 2023. Note that we’ve omitted cruises that aren’t open to the general public, such as short no-passenger relocation voyages or privately-chartered sailings such as the Disney Vacation Club Member Cruise. The second phase of sail dates, covering travel for Summer 2024 and early Fall 2024, was announced in March 2023.

For more details, visit the Summer 2024 itineraries page of disneycruise.com. There appears to be a 7-night itinerary gap following the Dream’s 2024 EBTA. The following bears repeating, please do NOT try calling today to book; this will just clog up the phone lines and bog down the reservation cast members. These cruises can be a good deal, as they usually are cheaper per night than conventional round-trip cruises. The longest repositioning cruises are the Panama Canal and Transatlantic cruises, which are almost always the cheapest cruises (per night) of the whole year.
